I think the rest of your work is a lot better than this one, but it is alright. The layout and composition are a unique thing in the wallpaper gallery, too bad the shapes themselves, really make me thing of Photoshop. Perhaps modified shapes would help?
Thanks for the advice. It's certainly one of my oldest pieces, made when I had started to learn how to use photoshop. Yet for some reason, it's my most popular. I aimed for simplicity with this, and by modifying the shapes, it would've defeated the purpose of the autumn idea I had planned for. It's nice to see someone likes my other pieces more than this, because i'm not even a big fan of it myself.
like others i do have a few things to say:
1. blues and whites are more winter-like. you should try pale greens and browns.
2. larger resolutions would be nice, something like 1280x1024 or even 1600x1200px.
3. the top left corner is kinda dark. it ruins the peaceful sense given by the falling glowy leaves.
I love the tranquil tones of the blue, and the glow effect used on the leaves. They kind of look like bubbles if you defocus on them. I think maybe a red-orange instead of the blue would have suited this piece more, mainly because they are more autumnal colours than the blue, but I don't think quite the same effect would have been achieved.
I think I prefer your winter one better, because I find the blue, whitish colours more suitable for that work. In my mind, I think a beige-ish or brown-ish set of colours would've been better, but since you received a rather large amounts of favourites for this, you're obviously doing something right
Verrry nice typography here. It's rare that typography is done well, but you've really nailed it here. Nice job! I wonder what it would look like without the patterned background, just a plain gradient?
Sometimes we don't need much technical skills or good stock stuffs to make a beautiful piece. A good idea is enough. Your picture have this beautiful simplicity, but also create a really poetry, and that's really expressive. Nice work.
